Our Story

We have been Located at 101 Front St. on the corner of Dundas and Front St. in Downtown Belleville, since Oct 1, 1977 and have become a landmark. This is a family business that was established years ago by patriarch Howard Cooney.

In 1945, Howard Cooney began the original "Howard Cooney Auto" in Stirling Ontario. After many years of service in Stirling, he moved to Pine St. in Belleville where sons Brian and David joined the business of cars. Cooney Auto Sales owes its success to, not only the immediate Cooney Family but or loyal customer base, and our strong devoted team.

At Cooney Auto Sales we do whatever it takes to make our business the best. We belong to the Used Car Dealers Association of Ontario (since 1989), The Canadian Federation of Independent Business, The Belleville Downtown Improvement Association and The Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council.

Being a family owned and local business, we are able to get to know our customers and ensure every customer drives off the lot with a vehicle that best suits their needs.
